Until the age of 35, Giorgia Papazisi had what we call a normal life. She had health, beauty, a partner, friends, home, family, work, fun, holidays, everything. Within a short time, Lyme disease robbed her of speech and movement, bringing her life a huge upheaval. <\/span><\/p>\n

What do you do when such overwhelming misfortune strikes you like a thunderbolt? I don’t know what you would do, but Georgia didn’t give up. She has done and continues to do everything she can for her healing and she never loses hope that one day she will talk and walk again. Others have done it, “why not me?” she writes. She is an example to follow, she has the metal of a person who saw the disease as a teacher. And now he delivers the same lessons to us. <\/span><\/p>\n

Why not me? (Syrtari) is not just a testimony. It is “a true story of courage”, as the author writes in her subtitle. The book was created with the help of a technology that allows the user to write with their eyes. It is a transformational book that connects with the core of things, a book that tells you: “Wake up! We’re all doing the best we can in the moment. <\/span>The power that we all have within us is enormous.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Her tremendous sense of humour, her honesty, her narrative skill create a work that is read with great enthusiasm and inspiring. I believe it is only a matter of time before the book falls into the hands of a producer or director who will want to make it into a movie. Georgia’s example is written from materials that house great stories, full of sensitivity, knowledge, truth and beauty. <\/span><\/p>\n

Georgia proves that miracles do happen. Even with a body that doesn’t help her, she can now write – always with her eyes – what she feels, what she sees and more than ever before. Georgia, thank you for this priceless gift you give us. <\/span><\/p>\n
